Radeon HD 7990 will be released on April 24

Already at the launch of the first graphics cards in the Radeon HD 7000 series, AMD promised to release at least one model with dual graphics processors. However, the Radeon HD 7990 “New Zealand” never became a reality. Instead, the partner manufacturers were given free rein to develop their own models with two Tahiti XTs, which resulted in Asus Ares II and Powercolor Devil 13, among other things.

Now, however, an official Radeon HD 7990 is approaching. By all accounts, the model is based on two Tahiti XTs with 2,048 stream processors, 384-bit memory buses and 3 GB of GDDR5 memory per graphics processor (a total of 6 GB). AMD’s version includes a cooler with three fans and power supply via two 8-pin PCI Express connectors.

According to Swiss Ocaholic, the Radeon HD 7990 will be released on April 24, that is, in the middle of next week. The newcomer will, among other things, face the Geforce GTX 690 and thus has the potential to sail up as the fastest graphics card in the world.
