Now we have a card with 3 massive coolers (which we are used to seeing from vendors such as Asus, MSI, etc.) – 90 millimeters each . Air from the fans is pushed out of the side of the card.
The main design difference between the RX 6800 and the RX 6800 XT is thickness. Both cards are the same size, but the 6800 XT is 2.5 slots thick and the 6800 is the standard design that takes up 2 slots!

Built on the same TSMC N7 (7 nm) as Navi 10, the Navi 21 GPU occupies a 519.8 mm² die area and contains 26.8 billion transistors. The pinkish red tint that we saw on Navi 10 has disappeared.
All thermal images were taken under maximum load for a general idea and understanding of the cooling system with a slight overclocked core and memory.

Unfortunately, unlike the RX 6800 , the RX 6800XT performs much worse in terms of the cooling system.

Tests in MSI Afterburner show + – the same results, the GPU temperature is at around 71 (73) degrees:
Unfortunately, AMD did not make a perfect cooling system for such a powerful card. Yes, 73 degrees is not fatal to the GPU, but not ideal either.

Mining with Radeon RX 6900 XT and RX 6800 XT: benchmarks, hashrate, consumption
The first tests showed that the 6800 XT showed [ terrible performance ] compared to 3080: 59 megahashes versus 86. The situation with the RX 6900 XT was a little better – out of the box it produced from 59 to 62 MH / s, and when overclocked it rose to 64 MH / s.
But there is one “but”. As of February 2021, there is no difference in mining between the RX 6800 XT and the RX 6900 XT. Both cards provide an equal number of megahashes with equal consumption and the same temperatures.
Hashrate and Consumption of RX 6800 XT
As with AMD cards, performance increases with the driver version number. This has been confirmed experimentally for the 6800 XT as well. Test stand:

Hashrate and Consumption of RX 6900 XT
At the stock settings out of the box, the card outputs 56-59 MH / s, but gradually rises to 61 megahashes, in order to then run into the power limit for the chip and deliver 59 MH / s. At the same time, the consumption of the card according to the readings of the miner reaches 245 watts.
