Raijintek SCYLLA PRO series in review – exclusive test of the new release
We have waited a long time for it and now it is finally here, the new SCYLLA PRO in the 360 hardtube version. Finally, after all the pandemic turmoil of the last few months, including the general shortage of goods, I finally got it and I can now exclusively present this series to you and have already tested it. Because just looking at it is kind of boring.
Raijintek has now replaced the old Phorcys PRO with the SCYLLA PRO and rightly so, because Raijintek has made a big leap forward. Selected materials, an all in all excellent workmanship including an almost unbeatable good price among all the custom water cooling sets should fix it. The price (RRP) is € 390 for the 360 hard tube version, cheaper versions with a soft tube and other CPU block are already available in the 240 version for 360 € at Caseking. Comparable competitor products are usually significantly higher in price.
Scope of delivery and packaging
If you look at the packaging, you can immediately see that more emphasis was placed on the content and not on colorful pictures on the packaging. This is practical and environmentally friendly at the same time. The individual products are individually packaged and well protected against scratches and bumps. The scope of delivery includes the Antila D5 EVO AGB pump combination, the Forkis PRO ARGB CPU block, fittings (6 of them in the 90 ° version and 6 normal connection fittings in the Diameter 14/10), four PETG hard tubes with a diameter of 14/10, a 360 copper radiator and matching three ARGB PWM fans from the Eos series with the associated controller and remote control.
On top there are two bottles of RaiAqua and a filling bottle. All in all, you get an all-round carefree package and if you now want to integrate your graphics card into the circuit, that is not a problem in the end, as there are enough connections included to implement a simple custom loop.
Important note about the RGB connection
The ARGB connection of the components has also changed, because it can now be connected directly to the controller or directly to the mainboard. However, caution is advised here, because Raijintek uses a special 4-pin 5V ARGB connector (square pins), which unfortunately can be plugged onto the 12V RGB preci-dop (round pins) of the motherboard with a little force. The 5V line is visibly marked with a flag so that there is no confusion. A closer look is necessary here and it is also very important to ensure that you do not accidentally catch the 12V RGB header. Otherwise our RGB says goodbye with a small bang and it only lights up exactly 1 time!
On the following pages I will of course present you the tested components of this set in more detail and also have one or the other interesting test result for you.
