Review: Ethereum Mining Radeon RX 480 – Overclocking | HiveOS Settings (Best?)

Should you mine Today on the Radeon RX 480?

Definitely, and the faster you start, the better. Today, even computers with budget graphics cards allow you to earn a relatively round amount per year. The latter is enough to buy a used video card, and therefore the profit may double in a year. And then two more video cards, a couple more – and the whole farm will already be assembled. Many came to mining in this way.

An important point: the bullish cycle – that is, the active growth of cryptocurrencies – has not yet arrived. Bitcoin is now far from even the 2021 record, so the rest of the market is also in no hurry to grow. But then it will be fun.

By the way, and if not, video cards can always be sold. Or start playing Fortnite and become a millionaire without mining.

Consumption of RX 580, RX 570 and RX 470 in mining

With proper tuning and overclocking, these Radeon cards consume around 84W.

Consumption of RX 580, RX 570 and RX 470 in mining

Consumption RX 480 at 8Gb

As you can see in the picture, the RX 480 consumes 84W and still delivers 30Mh / s. A very good figure considering that the GTX 1660 Super gives the same figure, but this card is from 2021 and is much more expensive. But the advantage of 1660s is that they are new, with a large resource. A very interesting point, the newer and more technologically advanced RX 5700 XT produce almost twice as many hashes, while consuming the same 90-100W. Mining on the RX 5700 XT is described on our website.

RX590 mining farm

If you are planning to build a mining farm, and you are not sure on which video card it is better to do it, then the answer will be quite simple:

If you have a “free socket” and you buy equipment not on credit, then you can consider buying an RX590 for mining!

Why is it worth considering in this case? It’s simple: the card, although not significantly, still gives out more on different algorithms. Secondly, you will not be bothered by deductions for electricity, and as we remember, the 590 consumes a fairly large amount of electricity. And finally, the third is that this card will be slightly easier to sell on the secondary market in the future.

You shouldn’t buy RX590 for those who buy mining equipment on credit, or even just pay for the socket!

As for the credit, everything is clear here, but the socket is what will make this video card unprofitable, since it consumes more electricity than previous models. Especially if you don’t downvolt!
