Despite the fact that the GIGABYTE GeForce GT 710 (GV-N710D3-2gl) video card is in a very budget class on the video card market, it is sold in a standard branded cardboard box.

The minimum system requirements that are recommended by the manufacturer of the graphics accelerator are indicated on the bottom of the back cover. The power supply unit of the user who will use this video card must have a power supply with a capacity of at least 300 watts. On the other hand, the consumption of the GIGABYTE GT710 does not exceed 20W, so the power of the power supply must be selected depending on the processor that will work in conjunction with the gt710.

The box, in addition to the video card itself, contains a quick guide and a set of interchangeable connectors for the interface panel, they allow placing video outputs in two half-slots of a compact case. It is possible to completely separate the D-Sub connector as it is connected to the motherboard with a flexible cable.

The motherboard of the video card has the following list of ports:
1 x D-Sub;
1 x HDMI;
1 x DVI-D.
This set of video outputs allows you to connect any modern digital display or TV with a resolution of up to 4096 × 2160 (HDMI), as well as an analog screen with a resolution of up to 2048 × 1536 (D-Sub) without the use of adapters.

The GIGABYTE GeForce GT 710 is built on a black low-level board with a GPU in the center. But it is not equipped with a protective frame, because of which one must be very careful when installing or removing the cooling system (for example, when replacing the thermal paste). The rest of the components are located as standard: the power subsystem is installed on the front, and the video memory chips are located on the back. The back of the mat. the board contains a large number of electrical components and stickers with them. The rest of the connectors are not provided, because this video card does not require additional power and uses NVIDIA SLI technology.

The cooling system of the GIGABYTE GeForce GT 710 is quite small. So the graphics card cooling does not completely cover the front of the PCB, but only covers the GPU and memory chips. The dimensions of the cooling radiator are 76 x 57 x 12 mm. The design includes a radiator and an axial fan.
A small fan ARX FS1250-S1033A with a blade diameter of 37 mm is used. Its nominal operating voltage is 12V and the current power is 0.17A, which gives a total power of 2.04W.
The aluminum heatsink itself is painted black and connects to the GPU through a thin layer of thermal paste. Due to the low heat dissipation of the NVIDIA gk208 GPU, this design is sufficient for efficient heat dissipation.

During the first stage of testing the cooling system, we checked the efficiency of the radiator in automatic operation mode, the fan blades installed on the radiator, which rotate at 4270 rpm. At the same time, the graphics core was heated to 74 ° C and the fan was running at 49% of its maximum power. The noise from his work was average and a little intrusive when he was near the computer for a long time. But for a video card costing 4 599 rubles, it is quite acceptable.

In the next step, we set the maximum rotational speed of the heatsink (5620 rpm), which brought the GPU temperature down to 65 degrees Celsius.
At idle, the noise in the cooling system dropped below average as the fan switched from maximum power to 33% (1930 rpm). The GPU temperature did not exceed 36 degrees Celsius.

When evaluating the efficiency of a cooling system, first of all, consider the size of the fan that is installed on the cooling heatsink on the gt 710 video card. With a fan diameter of only 37 mm, it cannot be too quiet, because it must rotate very quickly for effective blowing. We also note the empty design of the radiator itself inside – the presence of strips will increase the area of effective heat dissipation and reduce the temperature indicators. The GIGABYTE GeForce GT 710 (GV-N710D3-2gl), on the other hand, is not designed for heavy applications, but its cooling system can keep the graphics stable when needed.
