Samsung Galaxy Chromebook doubles on RAM: models with 16 GB coming soon

A Samsung Galaxy Chromebook with 16 GB of RAM could be in progress. The variants presented during the CES 2020 stop at a maximum of 8 GB – which could be more than enough for the typical use scenarios of the Chromebook, but on the other hand here we talk about high-end systems, from the cost of about $ 1,000 (in Italy they never arrived) and with powerful Intel processors. The problem remains of the absence of specialized software, but also for those who make intensive use of multitasking in the web browser (read: it never drops below 50 open tabs) it is easy to exceed the 8 GB limit.

At the moment the only clue that emerged is a change in the Chrome OS source code, indicating that Kohaku, code name proper of the flashy (at least in the orange version) South Korean chromebooks, can double the maximum quantity available. We do not know if a new variant of the previous models will come out or it is preliminary work for the next generation. For the moment there seem to be no plans to double also internal storage, the maximum of which remains 256 GB.
