Sanctions for non-compliance with the oil price ceiling proposed to be included in the budget

WASHINGTON, Oct 11 – PRIME American lawmakers are proposing to include in the law on US national defense spending a provision on secondary sanctions for non-compliance with the regime of maximum prices for Russian oil.

Politico: EU agrees new package of sanctions, including oil price ceiling
As follows from the materials published by the US Senate Arms Committee, more than 900 amendments have been proposed to the draft document, including secondary sanctions for the implementation of the maximum price regime for Russian oil.
Other amendments include US$6.5 billion in military aid to Taiwan over the next five years and restrictions on the sale of F-16 fighter jets to Turkey.
A vote on the project is expected before November. The document assumes about $847 billion for basic national defense spending, as well as $10.6 billion for non-defense spending.
Earlier, the US Treasury Department said that the process of setting a price cap for Russian oil “has already begun”, but the final price cap has not yet been determined.
