The Intel Core i5-12490F is exclusive to the Chinese market and its basic configuration is very similar to the Core i5-12400F and Core i5-12500. Just like them, it offers 6 cores and 12 threads, but is based on a C0 silicon matrix (the same as e.g. the i9-12900K), not H0, offering only 6 Performance cores. That’s why it’s unique, and has become even more so after the Core i5-12490F’s price cut began in the target market.
The price reduction for Core i5-12490F may suggest a lot and even affect us as well
Until recently, the price of Core i5-12490F was ~ 1599 yuan (convert to US dollar), or PLN 1050. Today, however, it has dropped to 1,349 yuan (convert to US dollar), which translates to ~ PLN 890, which means that the processor was discounted within a few months by some ~ 16%. This could mean that:
