Sony Xperia XZ Premium spotted with Android 9.0

Geekbench

The Sony Xperia XZ Premium is the company’s oldest smartphone to be upgraded to Android 9.0. Officially, it is supposed to take place in November, but the phone has already been recognized with this system.

It appeared in the Geekbench database, where it was tested. Interestingly, the result obtained for a single core is lower than that of Android Oreo. This shows that Sony engineers still have a lot of work to do to properly adjust the new system. It may not turn out that the smartphone is worse with the new software than with the older version – any update would not make much sense then.

All Sony smartphones newer than Xperia XZ Premium will receive an update to Android Pie. This lives up to the company’s promises that all smartphones will be updated for at least two years after release.
