Take a look at the Tready robot for any terrain. This one joined the legs with the caterpillars

HEBI Robotics has unveiled its latest Tready robot, which uses curiously constructed, leg-shaped tracks to conquer any terrain. Not without a reason, because it is designed to carry out search and rescue missions, inspections of industrial facilities and general robotics development. WITH

The uniqueness of the Tready robot comes down to the connection of the legs and tracks

But as Kamal Carter of the company says, “Tready is for anyone who is interested in a rugged and capable mobile robot that moves across a wide variety of terrains.” Its most important elements boil down to a rectangular body, on the sides of which there are individually controlled four movable “legs” on the joints, on which a rubber tread extends. These can remain in a horizontal configuration when the robot moves relatively around and constantly change its slope to better negotiate uneven terrain.

The most interesting thing is when Tready encounters an obstacle that an ordinary robot of its size could not overcome. At least in the configuration with standard tracks, because those with robotic legs would be easier at this point. However, Tready in such situations is probably the easiest, because he also benefits from the grip provided by the constantly rotating “tracks on his legs”. This type of configuration even allows him to quickly return to the correct position after falling over.

Tready can also cope with the aquatic environment, because thanks to the IP67 certificate, it can withstand immersion to a depth of up to one meter, where it is able to withstand half an hour. In terms of capabilities, it reaches a maximum of 0.5 m / s, it can work for 2-3 hours on a single charge, and its Intel NUC minicomputer can be programmed for your own use. Controlling it, in turn, can be carried out wirelessly via Wi-Fi using the iOS / Android application, and its capabilities can be extended with additional modules in the form of cameras or an arm.
