Test – be quiet! Silent Loop 360
| Specs | Price

Hi all!

Back to be quiet! today with their latest AIO kit, the Silent Loop 360! It has now been almost a year since the brand released its first models in 120, 240 and 280 (tested here) in collaboration with Alphacool, it was time for a bigger model with the 360! On the program as you will have understood a 360 radiator and all that will be silent, the name of the brand and the model giving some indications on it 😀
Offered at a recommended price of 159.90 € the be quiet Silent Loop 360 is around 25 € more expensive than its little brother in 240, we are here at the top of the range of this type of product, let’s see what this gives in practice!

The box does not change compared to what can be found at be quiet! For years now, in fact, sobriety takes precedence here with a photo of the beast on a black background, of course the name of the brand and the model are of course present. A small list of strong points is there, pump designed for less vibrations, 3 Pure Wings 2 120 PWM fans, flexible tubes with anti-bending protection and so on.

At the back another listing of the strong points, as well as a small presentation of the brand, nothing really very interesting.

On the edge there is a table showing the technical characteristics, whether of the pump but also of the fans.

Here a vision already well known now on all AIOs on the market, there is a manual placed on a small rectangle of foam, underneath the beast is well packaged in individual bags all in a cardboard mold, the transport should not be a concern for the Silent Loop 360.

In terms of the be quiet! is not extravagant, a manual accompanied by fixing kits for Intel and AMD sockets as well as of course the necessary screws, a 3 x 4-pin -> 1 x 4-pin adapter to connect the 3 fans to the same 4-pin socket and finally a tube of thermal paste. Everything is of course present to mount the Silent Loop 360, nothing more!

Here is the beast! As you can see the radiator is starting to look disproportionate, the build quality is clearly there. Of course there are also no major changes compared to what we find in the competition, if we removed the small logo on the waterblock it would be difficult to say where the product comes from. Let’s take a closer look at all of this.

Here is the good big radiator monster, 3 slots for 12 cm fans. The build quality is excellent, the paint is applied very well and we feel that we are dealing with a quality product. In addition to that and even if it is not visible in the photo because of the paint, the fins are made of copper, which is an excellent thing because more “efficient” (and more expensive) than the aluminum that we found on the vast majority of products on the market, here the brand has done everything to maximize performance.

In general, on the AIO kits there are pipes which are fixed and sealed to the various components (water block and radiator), here the brand leaves the choice to the user to easily unscrew them, which will allow the addition of other elements.

The pipes are surrounded by a spiral which will prevent pinching and therefore blocking the circulation of the coolant, even if this is not necessarily common, better be safe than sorry as our English friends would say 😉

As for the water block, it reflects the image of the brand, namely very sober and of excellent manufacturing quality. There is no bling bling LED here, only a plastic plate imitating brushed aluminum on which the brand’s logo rests. As with the radiator, the pipes are also removable here.

On the side of the waterblock is a plug that will allow bleeding and replacement of the coolant, again rare are AIO kits fitted with this, a good point.

be_quiet_silent_loop_280_waterblock_dessous

A plastic film is present on the underside of the waterblock (which must not be forgotten to remove during installation!), The build quality is very good here, as elsewhere.

be_quiet_silent_loop_280_waterblock_miroir

The surface finish is excellent, almost as good as a mirror, a good thing for the heat conductivity.

be_quiet_silent_loop_360_cable_pompe

The cable that feeds the waterblock is braided and of good quality. A small sticker has been added compared to the first models indicating that the beast must be supplied with 12V, so no question of having fun operating the pump at a lower voltage 😉

The 3 fans supplied with the kit are Pure Wings 2 120mm PWM, rotating at a maximum speed of 2000 RPM and consuming a maximum of 3.6 Watts. They are the entry level from be quiet! but should be rather pleasing to the ear, although at 2000 RPM the sound level generated should be high for a lover of silence.

be quiet! has of course updated the list of socket compatibility, going from the almost obsolete 775 from Intel to the very latest 2066 (and its X299 chipset) including of course the 115x and even the 1366 and from AM2 to FM2 + via the very last AM4 from AMD, it is clear that it will work on almost all configurations on the market. The beast is of course rather imposing with 39.7 cm in length by 12.4 cm in width and 5.8 cm in thickness for the radiator with its fans, this remains however classic for a radiator equipped with 3 fans.
The radiator is made of copper fins, which as I said is out of the ordinary and potentially offers better performance than an aluminum radiator.
The 12 cm fans are Pure Wings 2 running at a maximum speed of 2000 RPM, which means that at most they will not be silent, but let’s hope that the PWM mode is well calibrated! The theoretical sound level fluctuates between 16.1 and 37.3 dB at the most, to see what this gives in practice.
Offered at a price of around 160 € it is placed on the high-end segment of AIO kits, but the presence of copper, the possibility of adding elements in the circuit and of purging the coolant are rather nice points. .
