The AMD Radeon Pro Duo will be released on April 26

After the number of delays and changes, AMD announced the flagship Radeon Pro Duo in March. The graphics card differs a lot from the company’s regular range. The focus is not on ordinary consumers and enthusiasts, although they will be able to buy the model, but more towards VR developers.

At the unveiling, AMD stated that the price for the graphics card lands at 1,499 dollars, corresponding to just over SEK 15,000 including VAT, but not when it finds out in the store. The company now announces that the sharp launch and availability for the Radeon Pro Duo is taking place 26 april.

The Radeon Pro Duo is most easily described as an R9 Fury X twice. These are dual-circuit Fiji XTs, each with 4,096 stream processors in 1,000 MHz, which gives a theoretical computing power of as many as 16 TFLOPS. This includes 4 GB HBM with a bandwidth of 512 GB / s per graphics circuit.

Another similarity with the R9 Fury X is that the graphics card is water-cooled with a tailor-made solution from Cooler Master, where a 120 mm radiator with an associated fan is responsible for heat dissipation. This should therefore be sufficient to keep the temperatures in check and dissipate about 500 W of heat at full load.
