The complexity of mining Bitcoin reached another high

The complexity of mining Bitcoin reached a record high level, demonstrating the growing competition for new blocks among the miners.

According to Blockchain.com, the bitcoin mining complexity, which changes according to the network hash rate every 2,016 blocks, reached 7,868,124,124,773. Thus, it exceeded its previous maximum recorded in October 2018.

At the same time, the bitrate of the Bitcoin network, which set new records almost daily over the past weeks, has slightly decreased and now stands at about 56,000,000 Tx / s. Thus, competition among miners for new units, as well as the overall security of the Bitcoin network, reached a record high.

Recall that in December last year, the complexity of mining Bitcoin collapsed by more than 15% for one recalculation for the first time since 2011, which was associated with a general decrease in the capitalization of the cryptocurrency market.
