The cows will also have their own Metaversum. Thanks to virtual reality, they will give more milk

It sounds absurd, but it turns out that putting on a cow VR goggle and displaying an image of a beautiful and endless pasture on them improves the animal’s well-being, which translates directly into increased milk production.

At least that’s what Izzet Kocak, a cattle farmer and rancher who lives outside the Turkish city of Aksaray, who has ordered special VR kits for his cows to see if the animals actually produce more milk when they think they are sitting on a beautiful green instead of a cramped milking parlor pasture.

Virtual reality for cows

Kocak has previously experimented with ways to make his cows feel better. For example, he played them soothing classical music. Now he is interested in Russian VR goggles designed for cows. Where will you ask these ideas? The answer is very simple: rising cattle feed prices in Turkey are causing farmers to test new ways to maximize production. In this case, it is about milk.

– We decided to try it out in our own business. In the first step, we tested virtual reality goggles on two of our animals. for about 10 days. We have seen an increase in both the quality and quantity of milk in animals wearing goggles, says Kocak.

The Turkish breeder plans to order another 10 sets of goggles for his cows. While doing research on this topic, I came across some comments that questioned this method, claiming that such a cow-matrix is a very unethical idea. Personally, it seems to me that virtual reality is the smallest problem when it comes to the entirety of industrial animal husbandry. Even more – VR is one of the few aspects of such breeding that to some extent improves the living conditions of these animals.
