MOSCOW, Sep 1 — PRIME. 13 countries of the European Union are currently completely or partially cut off from Russian gas supplies, said the deputy head of the European Commission’s energy directorate in the relevant committee of the European Parliament.
Nord Stream is operating at 20% capacity, Miller said
“Thirteen countries are partially or completely cut off from Russian gas,” the official said.
The risk of supply disruptions is gradually increasing, she said.
The official added that the European Commission has begun working on tools to launch a mechanism for common gas purchases in the European Union.
Earlier on Wednesday, Gazprom announced that on August 31 at 4 am Moscow time it had suspended gas supplies via Nord Stream due to scheduled work at the gas pumping unit of the Portovaya compressor station. The Russian company noted that pumping will resume on September 3.
