BRUSSELS, 6 Oct – PRIME. The European Union said that the new sanctions against Russia in no way affect cooperation in the field of peaceful atom, according to a document published in the official journal.
The European Union has published a new package of anti-Russian sanctions
The EU on Thursday introduced the eighth package of anti-Russian sanctions, which included new economic restrictions and an expanded list of personal sanctions.
“The EU is determined to avoid threats to nuclear security. In this regard, no measures of this regulation are aimed at undermining the security of civilian nuclear facilities, cooperation in the nuclear field,” the document says.
The sanctions also do not affect the design, construction, commissioning, maintenance of new facilities, or the supply of fuel for them.
Earlier, the EU imposed sanctions on a number of services, including engineering and information, for Russian companies.
