Intel He showed the first official photograph of one of their new GPUs high performance, showing enormous packaging of more than 3500mm2. The company did not clarify what GPU is about, but possibly it's Ponte Vecchio, your top-of-the-line GPU for servers.
Silicon bring-up with many tens of billions of transistors needs surgical teamwork of various engineering functions. With only remote access to labs spread worldwide, this was deemed impossible, until now. #NoTransistorLeftBehind #JoinTheOdyssey pic.twitter.com/z3ub5eOV9t

curiously this GPU uses LGA type packaging similar to a processor. Possibly the idea is to expand platforms with Xe Link by placing these GPUs in a custom socket, since as we saw in the designs of the Aurora supercomputer, GPUs will go directly into a socket on the motherboard, and not in a conventional PCI-E slot.
If it is indeed Ponte Vecchio, Below this IHS are 16 GPU DIEs manufactured at 7nm, using Foveros packaging to put all of this on one package. Without a doubt will be a revolution in the high-performance computing market, since we have never seen anything similar before.
We hope to have more on the new Intel GPUs as the end of the year approaches, when they launch their first discrete graphics and prepare for the launch of Ponte Vecchio in 2021, so we recommend you stay tuned for more information.
What do you think about this monstrous Intel GPU? Do you think it's Ponte Vecchio?
