The future of Qualcomm. The company has revealed its big plans for CES 2022

What will Qualcomm’s future look like? CES 2022 responded to this as Cristano Amon stepped onto the scene with the announcement of several new company initiatives. It has become famous all over the world for its modems and mainly smartphone SoCs, i.e. systems combining mainly CPU with GPU based on ARM architecture and operating memory.

At CES 2022, we got to know the future of Qualcomm, which is definitely moving towards the automotive industry

Qualcomm’s new initiatives will include next-generation ARM computers, metaverse, “wireless fiber” connectivity, Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), and VR and AR virtual reality. We already knew some of these announcements from rumors that clearly indicated Qualcomm’s appetite for the personal computer market (mainly laptops), wanting to finally be able to compete with Apple, Intel and AMD. Therefore, Qualcomm is currently working with Acer, Microsoft, Lenovo, HP and Asus.

Qualcomm implements virtual reality projects in cooperation with Microsoft, which guarantees it access to Microsoft Mesh. At the same time, the company needs to develop custom layouts that will power the augmented reality kits for use with metaverse applications. The connectivity issue, in turn, will be developed by using both 5G technology and millimeter waves to enable direct access to broadband Internet as an alternative to Wi-Fi.

In the automotive field, Qualcomm will spread its wings using the Snapdragon Cockpit system, thanks to which manufacturers will be able to remotely update the systems in the car throughout its life. In addition to this digital “chassis”, the Snapdragon Auto Connectivity Platform will create a digital cockpit, guaranteeing an advanced infotainment system, including even a ceiling display. The whole will be completed by ADAS, i.e. advanced driver assistance systems.
