The Novus electric motorcycle impresses with its low weight and terrifies with its price

I would be cut for such a gem … but I would sell it right away and buy a really decent car in its place. German manufacturer Novus unveiled its first Novus Bike at CES 2019, which is innovative in its own way and blurs the market for electric ebikes.

Novus Bike is evidently designed for really demanding customers who appreciate high quality lined with subdued minimalism. It is also a neat and interesting electric motorcycle that offers everything that is most important in an astonishingly narrow frame, matching the equally narrow tires intended for urban driving. All this, of course, in an ultra-modern edition, which translates into a low weight of 38.5 kilograms, which the manufacturer obtained thanks to the use of mainly carbon fiber. In this lower convexity, he hides a nominally 6.2 kW engine with a nominal power of 8.3 horsepower (maximum 18.7), which unscrews the rear wheel with a torque of 200 Nm. Hence the maximum speed, reaching around 98 km / h.

There was also a battery on board, which is enough to travel almost 100 kilometers in city traffic. However, charging it to 80% will take relatively little time, just 1 hour. The whole is complemented by a pair of simple shock absorbers, poor lighting and the possibility of connecting a smartphone to the local system. In theory, the Novus Bike is expected to cost $ 39,500, but a lot of its features simply need to change before it goes on sale. Although it resembles an electric bicycle, it is still a motorcycle, so it should receive more extensive lighting, mirrors and a place for a license plate.
