The DJI company has just shown the successor to the Osmo Mobile 4 gimbal, i.e. (no surprise) the DJI Osmo Mobile 5. We know all the details about it, including the fact that it costs $ 159 and is now available in two colors. There are so many changes that some will probably stay with the older version.
Lighter and more handy, but with one big disadvantage. Here is a comparison of the OM4 to the DJI Osmo Mobile 5 at a glance
According to official information, DJI Osmo Mobile 5 is a completely new gimbal for smartphones, which the company has equipped with a number of improved technologies and functions (led by the guide ShotGuide) designed specifically to make all shots less blurry. In addition, this gadget also comes with a telescopic selfie stick, as if someone wanted to move a few years back.

While retaining its familiar foldable design, the new Osmo Mobile is both smaller and lighter at the same time. Sounds good, doesn’t it? The problem is that it was reflected in the built-in battery, and so Osmo Mobile 4 lasts up to 15 hours on a single charge, and the new gimbal only 6 hours and 20 minutes. It is this problem that many can opt for an older generation gimbal.

However, there is nothing to complain about, because in terms of technology, DJI has improved a lot. Thanks to these enhancements, the Osmo Mobile 5 now supports tracking up to 3x magnification including objects moving up to 5 m / s. Apparently, it is able to accurately identify and follow an object centered in the frame. The triaxial system present in it, in turn, is equipped with several shooting modes.
