The SPACe_C concept from Panasonic combines public transport with autonomy

Even Panasonic decided to present its SPACe-C concept at CES 2019. In short – this is one of the ideas for fully electric and autonomous e-Torta platforms, the modernization of which will be based on the exchange of modules, i.e. cabins or cargo holds .

So the company presented its idea for the development of the autonomous vehicle segment in aspects of everyday life. The e-Torta platform he invented (385 x 168 x 195 cm) was already presented at last year’s CES, but now it has undergone further changes. Its most important feature would be definitely compatibility with all modules that define the purpose of the whole. Panasonic thinks about modules that act as a food cart (definitely an oversized one), a mobile place to meet friends, a delivery vehicle, a mobile shop, a place for lessons, and even a food truck.

The aforementioned e-Torta platform hosted a modernized drive system, which consists of a charger, an inverter and an 18 kW motor. In turn, the most basic modules are to include, for example, the driver’s cabin (seat and electronic controls), although this will not be required if the autonomous driving mode is activated. Panasonic, in turn, believes that the experience gained over many years in the field of lighting, ventilation and other technologies ensuring comfort at home will allow it to create the right conditions in these vehicles.
