Two 2017 HUAWEI flagships receive final EMUI update and complete lifecycle

HUAWEI is preparing to migrate smartphones to its own Harmony OS. All this may turn out to be an ordinary farce, since it has recently become known about the preparations for the sale of the flagship series “P” and “Mate” by an unknown company. If this happens, then only budget devices will remain in the HUAWEI portfolio. This means that the Chinese will move from the pedestal of a technological leader to the rank of a small factory for the production of inexpensive consumer goods.

Until that happens, we have good news and bad news at the same time. So, today the Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro smartphones received their last update. Both were released in 2017 and became the most advanced gadgets to date. The key feature of the devices is considered to be a powerful Kirin 970 processor, as well as a display with HDR10 support. Curiously, the younger version received an IPS matrix, while the older one received a full AMOLED. Another difference is the main camera. The Mate 10 is equipped with a 12MP lens, while the advanced version has a 20 + 12MP sensor.

Today, European users have received a security update for these smartphones. Notably, instead of the January fixes, we saw the November patch. At the same time, the previous update was for July. Insiders assure that there is no need to wait for new updates, which means both smartphones have finally completed their life cycle. There will be no more patches and fixes.
