Two great successes for AMD in Steam statistics

The latest Steam Hardware Survey shows two great successes from AMD. I am talking about the market of graphics cards and processors, although in the case of the former the company is very, very much behind the competition.

Record on the processor side and the first graphics card in the ranking, i.e. two great successes from AMD

Getting straight to the point, AMD processors are apparently becoming more and more popular in gaming hardware, as the platforms of the volunteer survey participants already rely on 30.3% primarily on Ryzen processors. This is AMD’s record for years, dropping Intel’s stake below the magic 70% threshold. The trend has been going on for a long time, but this time it was a full 2.99% jump in just a month.

In turn, the success in the field of graphics cards is much less spectacular, but perhaps more important, because for the first time the share of the new generation Radeons has increased enough to show up in Steam statistics at all. This card turned out to be the Radeon RX 6700 XT, which can boast a 0.16% market share, which puts it on the level of the GeForce RTX 3050 Ti and RX 5700 laptops.

As a reminder, the listing requires at least 0.15% of the market share, which clearly indicates the overall popularity of the Radeon RX 6000. However, it is revealed by API DirectX 12 support, indicating that the RX 6800 XT has a 0.11% market share, RX 6900 XT 0.10% and RX 6800 0.05%. This gives us 0.43% of the shares for the whole family, which against the background of 6.96% of the GeForce RTX 3000 shares is not a funny joke.
