MOSCOW, 1 Oct — PRIME. U.S. Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm called on U.S. energy companies to cut fuel prices and restore fuel supplies.

According to a statement on the ministry’s website, companies are making record high profits but passing the costs on to consumers. According to the department, the price dynamics is associated with problems with refineries and the inability of companies to maintain regional reserves at the required level. At the same time, the export of gasoline and diesel fuel reaches record levels.
“It is high time for US energy companies to take action to reduce consumer prices and restore this country’s gasoline and diesel inventories, which are below the five-year range,” the release said.
