According to a study by Jefferies, the majority of US social network users are not going to use the Libra cryptocurrency developed by Facebook.
It is reported that in a survey conducted by the financial company Jefferies, more than 600 people took part. When asked about plans to buy a steablcoin Libra, 80% of respondents answered “unlikely” or “extremely unlikely.”
This is due to the low level of trust in Facebook, despite the fact that the company will not have access to user transactions. In addition, at least 40% of respondents already have a mobile payment wallet, so there is no need to use Libra.
“In fact, if Libra does not receive widespread acceptance and does not create a stir, then this cryptocurrency is unlikely to be able to replace existing forms of non-cash payments, at least in the foreseeable future,” the researchers emphasized.
Users interested in acquiring Libra plan to use steylcoin to buy goods and services (12%), to transfer funds to family and friends (14%), and another 15% of respondents consider both use cases.
Recall that the White Book of the Libra project was presented in the middle of last month and caused a strong reaction from both regulators and representatives of the cryptocurrency community.
