If you missed a notification, you accidentally deleted it or you just want to see the recent or oldest notifications from your cell phone, try looking in the history, registry or “log” of notifications. This is where notifications are saved on Android.
Notification history is a hidden Android feature, which saves the most recent notifications generated on the device, as well as their content. Among other things, it is extremely useful for view deleted messages on someone else’s WhatsApp.
This feature is shipped from the factory on Android 4.3 devices. It is found even in the most current versions of Android, including Android 11. However, some manufacturers may have removed this feature from their Android variants. That is the case of Huawei. If you cannot access this registry in the ways indicated below, your alternative will be to install an app that saves your notifications.

How to access the notification log on Android

Just install the app and touch the icon to see the deleted, previous or past Android notifications.
This is the easiest way to view old notifications on Android. This application is simply a shortcut to the original Android notification history. As it is only a shortcut, it is negligible in size of 13 KB and does not require any special permission to install.
If you do not want to install this APK (although it is safe), an application that apparently has the exact same function of “shortcut” or “shortcut” is Notification Log Shortcut Y is available on Google Play.
Notifications Log Widget
Some Android come with a widget from the factory through which you can enter the system’s notification history. That is, you arrive at the same record as in the previous case, but in a different way.

If you don’t see the «Configure» widget indicated above, install a launcher that does offer this possibility, such as Nova Launcher. After installing this app, press the start button. In the window that will appear choose “Nova Launcher” and “Always”. Then:
- Long tap on an empty space on the home screen
- Elige “Widgets”
- Long press on “Activities” and release when the home screen appears.
- In the list that will appear, tap on “Settings”.
- In the next sub-list, tap on “Notification Log” to create the shortcut on the home screen. Tapping on it will enter the notification log.
Huawei and other brands that do not save notifications
I have tested the above on my devices Samsung Galaxy S7 (Android 7) and Motorola Moto G (Android 6) successfully. Unfortunately and as I said at the beginning, for some reason some manufacturers have removed this functionality from their versions of Android. For example, Huawei cell phones do not have a notification record (at least it does not appear on my Huawei with Android 9).
If you use the apps mentioned at the beginning to access the history, you will get the error «Your phone vendor may have removed it or your account have no permission to access it” O “The page to which this application is directed is not supported by your manufacturer brand«. If you search in the widgets you will only have the option «Configure notifications»Which is not the log and if you do it from Nova Launcher you will not find the activity .Settings$NotificationStationActivity.
In this case, the alternative is to install an application that saves all the notifications that are generated on your cell phone. Its great advantage is that you will have permanent access to all of them (the Android notification history only saves a number and limited information and is deleted when the computer is restarted). One of the best rated apps on the Play Store is NotiSave. The oldest are Notification History Log O Notification History. One of the most professional is FilterBox, but it is a paid app, with a 30-day free trial. To save only deleted messages on WhatsApp you can try WhatsRemoved.
