Why does my cell phone freeze

Commonly, the cell phone freezes or locks due to a problem in an application or the Android system itself. Maybe you installed a buggy app, still in development, or a disreputable APK. Or it may be an Android system defect, temporary or permanent (usually the former).

What to do if my cell phone is locked and does not respond

Restart

This is the simplest and most effective solution when the cell phone hangs or has been stuck on the home screen or in any other app.

If so freeze the cell phone screen and you can’t make use of the normal restart (from the option that appears when you press and hold the power button), you will have to do a force restart (as long as the phone has enough battery). The process varies from brand to brand. For instance:

Samsung Galaxy S6: Press the power and volume down buttons at the same time and for 10 to 20 seconds.

Motorola Moto E4: Press the power button for 10 to 20 seconds.

In both cases, release the buttons when the brand logo appears.

Some computers can also accept a force shutdown. That is, holding down the power button and volume up (or volume down) for 5 or 10 seconds.

Please make sure the phone has at least 5% battery before restarting, or else it may not turn on.

Most modern phones no longer have a removable battery, but if your cell phone has this advantage, you will only have to remove the battery if your Android stays glued.

Uninstall the application that freezes the cell phone

An app or game can be the root of the problem. If you can detect what it is, you just have to uninstall.

Unfortunately it is very difficult to determine exactly which application may be freezing the cell phone. However, what you can do is enter the safe mode of the cell phone. If you notice that the problem IS NO LONGER REPEATED in this mode, it means that any of the applications that YOU installed cause the failure.

If that is the case, you will have to uninstall the applications you installed one by one until you verify that the problem disappears in normal operation mode. It will be faster if you can remember when you had the problem and what apps you installed at that time.

Factory reset

If the problem occurs all the time and you have no idea why it hangs or is lagea the cell phone, the reset can be the permanent solution. However, this procedure will erase all data on the device, so be careful to make a backup if possible.

After restarting the phone in the previous way, you will probably be able to go to the system settings and use the “Reset to default” or “factory settings” option.

You can also force a reset by entering the recovery mode of the cell phone. With the mobile off, press and hold the Power button and volume up (and the home button, in the case of some Samsungs) at the same time. The buttons will be released when the brand logo appears. Once inside the recovery mode (image above), scroll to the option «wipe data factory reset» with the volume buttons and choose it with the power button.

I reset my cell phone and it keeps freezing
