Zotac launches sales Geforce GTX 980 Ti AMP! Extreme with sky-high factory overclocking

Ahead of Computex 2015, Nvidia took the opportunity to launch the Geforce GTX 980 Ti, which sniffs the flagship GTX Titan X in terms of performance. The latest addition also lifts the restrictions for partner manufacturers who can develop tailor-made solutions, something Zotac has taken note of with a really large model.

The model called Geforce GTX 980 Ti AMP! Extreme may well be the most factory-overclocked variant from any partner. The base frequency of 1,253 MHz and 1,355 MHz at boost is as much as 25 percent higher than the reference version. This is also in the same region as SweClocker’s test lab reached during manual overclocking.

The graphics card comes like all other GTX 980 Ti with 6 GB GDDR5 and here Zotac settles for a more modest factory overclocking of 7 220 MHz, ie just over 3 percent above the reference value 7 012 MHz. This results in a bandwidth of 346 GB / s, up from the regular 336 GB / s.

Furthermore, it is a mafia version of the Icestorm cooler, which here takes up three expansion slots. The circuit board is also tailored by Zotac to stand up to the high factory overclocking and provide additional margins. The Extreme variant is also equipped with a bunch of LED lights on the radiator itself.

Zotac Geforce GTX 980 Ti AMP! Extreme lands in Swedish stores next week at a recommended price of around SEK 8,500 including VAT.
