21 actual Xiaomi smartphones have completed their lifecycle – the release of Android 11 on MIUI 12.5 canceled

Right now, the final delivery of MIUI 12 firmware to dozens of current Xiaomi smartphones is underway. Based on the latest data, this will be the last version available for such a wide range of models. In fact, we have an unprecedented case when at least 70 devices will receive an update. This is the line of Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 6, as well as budget ones, starting with the Redmi 6 Pro and ending with the Redmi seventh series. In this case, we do not indicate the later phones, since it is already clear that they could automatically count on MIUI 12.

Not everyone has received the Russian firmware yet, but the process is underway. But the situation with support for Android 11 is completely different. All these devices received Android 10 at best, which only complicated the development process. It is known that the release of the new MIUI 12.5 firmware will start soon. It will traditionally be based on both Android 11 and Android 10 for a number of older devices. Judging by the latest leaks, many smartphones of the 2018-2020s were left out of progress and will not receive the next version of the update.

This does not mean that they will become slower, but you should not wait for new functions, and one or two more security updates will arrive. At the end, let’s add Poco F1 and Black Shark, which also came out in 2018. The first became the people’s flagship, and the second was a real challenge to enthusiasts who were ready to pay extra for a flashy body and name for a few hundred dollars.
