216 Ethereum developers contribute each month to the code

Two years after reaching its peak, Google search for Ethereum dropped by 96%.
In January 2018, the ETH price reached $ 1500, and Google Trends exploded with interest.

Since then, the ETH price has reached about $ 140, and searches have reached just 4% of the maximum historical value.

Ethereum offers an interesting point of analysis due to its position as the second most popular cryptocurrency. Despite the apparent loss of interest in Google Trends, Ethereum remains the favorite cryptocurrency of blockchain developers.

According to recent research by Electric Capital, Ethereum has four times more developers than the Bitcoin blockchain. Analysis conducted this fall showed that Ethereum has attracted 18% of all open source developers working on the blockchain. That amounts to about 216 developers contributing to the Ethereum code every month.

216 Ethereum developers contribute to the code

The platform has the largest team of crypto developers. On average, 216 Ethereum developers contribute each month to the code. This number does not include those working on projects related to the ecosystem.

For comparison, Bitcoin has about 50 developers contributing monthly to its code, according to Electric Capital.

Google Trends also saw a 94% drop in search interest among users compared to the maximum two years ago. The price of BTC cryptocurrency has decreased by 65% over the same time period. By comparison, Ethereum is worth only 11% of the maximum historical value.

Ethereum is currently undergoing a major upgrade process, including a transition to the proof-of-stake consensus mechanism. It remains to be seen how the global interest in crptomonia will be affected once this process is completed.
