AMD Navi-based graphics card finds out in database – probably Radeon RX 5600

For the first time since 2012, it was time for AMD to unveil a replacement for the GCN graphics architecture during the summer. However, the first incarnation of the graphics family Navi is not entirely new, but at the moment it is a hybrid between the architectures GCN and RDNA. Initially, only the Radeon RX 5700 and RX 5700 XT were released – two models in the upper middle class.

That more cards will come is thus no big deal, and now the twitter profile Komachi has found traces of a scaled-down Navi circuit from AMD. This is a Navi 14 with a total of 24 calculation units, a noticeable step down from the Navi 10 in the RX 5700 series with up to 40 calculation units.

With 64 stream processors per computing unit, it provides 1,536 stream processors, which means that it is probably a circuit intended for the RX 5600 series. This includes a boost frequency of 1,900 MHz and 4 GB of graphics memory of an unknown type. With the specifications in mind, AMD is probably preparing a competitor to Nvidia’s Geforce GTX 1660 in the mid-range.

Previously, AMD-exclusive partner manufacturer Sapphire has registered names such as RX 5600 as well as series over the current RX 5700 such as the RX 5800 and RX 5900 series. Many have speculated that it was a placeholder for possible future releases, but at least the RX 5600 series seems to become a reality through Navi 14.

The specifications also suggest that it may be a replacement for the long-distance Polaris and cards such as the Radeon RX 590 and RX 580. The family was first released in 2016 by the Radeon RX 480, and has since been refined and updated a number of times. Exactly where Navi 14 is placed, however, remains to be seen at the release.
