Anchorage launches governance platform for MakerDAO

Crypto custody provider Anchorage has launched a governance platform for crypto projects using this system. The first cryptocurrency to use this system is Maker (MKR) and is expected to be expanded in the future.

With “Anchorage Governance”, the platform’s clients, which include some big-name investment firms, such as a16z, Polychain and Paradigm, can now participate in voting governing decisions. Customers of the custody company have a “significant” stake in Maker and therefore expect the governing voting platform to have a “significant” impact on future voter turnout.

MCD vote on November 15th

On November 15, MKR holders are expected to participate in Multi-Collateral Dai (MCD).

“It is important for MakerDAO’s success that Anchorage customers holding MKR can vote easily and securely, and we look forward to increased ownership of assets,”

said Rune Christensen, founder of MakerDAO.

Anchorage is not the only platform that provides a government voting platform for MKR holders. Coinbase Custody offers similar services.

Diogo Monica, Co-Founder and President of Anchorage, explained the difference:

“The Coinbase model involves moving assets from a cold storage system to a smart proxy contract. It is controlled by an online wallet … and is more at risk. Our model does not use portfolios and therefore it is not necessary to use a proxy smart contract. ”

Anchorage will support other DAO projects

Monica said the company is “focused on supporting several major new projects that are preparing to launch.” On-chain governance is a system whereby cryptocurrency holders can vote on proposals such as Stability Tax adjustments, daily deposit interest. and the types of collateral for the portfolio.
