Arctic Power Capital launched new hybrid power plants in Yakutia

VLADIVOSTOK, 6 Sep — PRIME. Four new hybrid power plants have been opened in Yakutia, a RIA Novosti correspondent reports from a ceremony held as part of the WEF.

Arctic Power Capital has completed the construction of four hybrid power plants in the Momsky Ulus of Yakutia. The stations were built in the villages of Moma (Khonuu), Sasyr, Kulun-Elbut, Tebyuli (Chumpu-Kytyl), while the SPP in the village of Moma (Khonuu) is the largest solar power plant in the world, located above the Arctic Circle.

The energy complexes consist of solar power plants with a total capacity of 1,944 kW, diesel power plants with a total capacity of 4,400 kW, and energy storage systems with a total energy intensity of 784.2 kWh. It is noted that the energy complexes will provide reliable energy supply to four polar settlements with a population of more than 4 thousand people.

The power plants were built on the basis of energy service agreements with Sakhaenergo (part of RusHydro).

“Four modern mobile automated power plants in the Momsky Ulus of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) will reduce diesel fuel consumption from 31% to 48% by generating solar modules and electricity storage devices. These facilities are built with a significant margin of power, and we are ready to provide an increase in consumption electric power,” Vladimir Toshchenko, CEO of Arctic Power Capital, said during the ceremony.
