BitMEX cryptocurrency exchange announced that residents of some countries will no longer be able to access the trading platform due to regulatory restrictions.
In total, 11 countries appeared in the list of regions with limited access: the USA, the Canadian province of Quebec, Cuba, Crimea, Iran, Syria, North Korea, Sudan, Bermuda, Hong Kong and Seychelles.
“The work of regulators is to ensure that companies work with customers legally. Therefore, we decided to limit access to BitMEX for users of those jurisdictions in which the offices of the parent company HDR Global Trading Limited are located, ”the website of the cryptocurrency exchange says.
In July, it was reported that the BitMEX cryptocurrency exchange was being investigated by the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). The regulator is studying the question of whether the exchange allows US traders to use their platform.
