“Blockchain and AI can be used for military operations”

Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh believes blockchain, artificial intelligence (AI), and big data can be used to conduct military operations and defend the country.

Speaking at a conference in Delhi, attended by delegates from 80 countries, Singh said that innovative technologies can be used not only for the development of world industry, but also in the military industry.

“Artificial intelligence, big data and blockchain have already made fundamental changes to the existing paradigm of the defense industry. Blockchain technology has enormous potential that must be used to ensure the country’s security, ”said the Indian Minister of Defense.

In February, India will hold its annual DefExpo 2020 conference, which will discuss military security issues, including the introduction of blockchain technology in the country’s defense infrastructure.

Despite the loyalty to blockchain technology in general, India does not support cryptocurrencies, in particular, Bitcoin. Recall that in October, the Supreme Court of India adjourned the hearing on the revision of the ban on servicing cryptocurrency companies in the country on November 19.

In addition, last month, the Bank of India blocked police funds from the sale of confiscated cryptocurrencies. Such a ban caused a number of problems, given that the police cannot transfer cryptocurrencies seized in order to maintain law and order to the state.
