decentralized socialization platform created by Block.one

The company behind the EOS blockchain platform, Block.one, has launched the beta version of the decentralized socialization platform, Voice.

Voice Beta is a rewards platform in the Voice token for creating, distributing and discovering content. It will be launched first only for US residents and with a limited feature set, the platform explained.

For starters, this will be available to users who have requested beta access. All content on Voice Beta will only be visible to registered users. They will need to confirm through Voice HooYu identity verification service that they are real people and US residents.

Voice needs regulation

Following this initial feedback and further optimization in the United States, Voice says they will

“A constant launch continues in the English-speaking territories, then globally, working with local regulatory authorities as we expand.”

Block.one explained that it chose to launch in the US due to regulatory hurdles regarding social media networks.

“This area requires legal compliance wherever we intend to make Voice available. We have already looked closely at all our key markets in America, Europe, Africa and Asia. ”

In the meantime, the platform has been consulting with the US SEC since last December and has developed policies and systems to meet the requirements of the Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC) and anti-money laundering.

Block.one announced its intention to launch Voice in June last year and paid $ 30 million for Voice.com. The company has opted for the development of a dedicated blockchain for this platform, called EOSIO. Later, the plan is for the platform to be integrated on the EOS Public Blockchain and possibly other networks.
