MOSCOW, 6 Sep — PRIME. The European Union has pumped almost 90 billion cubic meters of gas into underground storage facilities in preparation for winter, according to data from the Association of Gas Infrastructure Operators of Europe (Gas Infrastructure Europe, GIE).
UGS filling rates on September 1-3 were 0.35-0.39 percentage points (p.p.), and on September 4 increased to 0.41 percentage points. The overall level of occupancy of European “subways” is 81.92%, they contain 88.6 billion cubic meters of gas. If the rate of injection remains at the same level and no severe cold sets in, European companies will fill gas storage facilities by 90% by the end of September.
Meanwhile, wind generation in Europe with the advent of autumn has grown, according to data from the WindEurope association. As early as September 1, it was at the level of 9.2%, and on September 2-5 it increased to the level of 13-15% of the total electricity generation in Europe.
At the same time, deliveries from Russia remain limited. Nord Stream did not come out of a three-day scheduled maintenance on September 3, as previously expected. At the same time, Russian gas supplies through Ukraine remain at the same levels.
