At the end of last year, it was discovered that EVGA’s graphics card cooler ACX 3.0 had inadequate cooling capacity regarding the current part’s VRM part and memories, which meant that the temperatures on these parts could be a bit higher than many users were comfortable with under load. However, the company was quick to offer a solution to the problem in the form of additional heating pads and updated BIOS that increased the speed of the fan under heavy load.
This particular mistake made EVGA think twice about future cooler and graphics card designers, and today we get to see what the company has been working on in recent months. All focus is on the new ICX concept, where an upgraded cooling solution is combined with more advanced monitoring and control functions.
The test lab is visited by the flagship Geforce GTX 1080 FTW2, which is one of the first models to be gifted with the ICX system.
