Gemini’s global sales institutional capacity is expanding in Europe

The US Gemini Exchange seeks to expand its position in Europe, announcing a vacant director position for institutional sales.

The new European Sales Director will promote and grow Gemini business throughout Europe and the US. Its role will be to “generate new business opportunities” by creating relationships with institutional clients, according to the post on LinkedIn.

Hierarchically speaking, the new manager will work closely with the European Gemini director in the London office, but will report directly to the operations manager in New York. The exchange already has a sales team based in the US, but the new station is designed to improve the institutional capacity for global exchange sales.

Gemini’s global sales capacity is expanding

Julian Sawyer, director of Gemini Europe, told Coindesk that European expansion has become a priority.

“Gemini is a very popular exchange in the US, especially in New York. In Europe, the company is less known, so we must develop our reputation and credibility. ”

Sawyer joined Gemini in December, and previously served as chief operating officer at British Starling Bank.

“Part of what I do is to inform people that we Gemini are here and that we got a little more serious in the world of cryptocurrencies by hiring people with experience in the banking system,”

he added.

Another direction of action for Sawyer was to contact local fintech service providers about possible API integrations. The newly formed institutional sales division will begin to cultivate relationships with large players in both the United States and Europe.

Although the only publicly traded position is that of sales manager, Sawyer said the exchange plans to hire more members for its European sales team, as its regional presence continues to expand.
