In September, the launch of the AMD FX series “Zambezi / Bulldozer”, processors with up to eight cores that will take on Intel Sandy Bridge in performance and middle class, will take place. Gigabyte precedes the official launch and publishes the specifications for six of the initial models, including clock frequencies.
The table is topped by four AMD FX-8000s with eight cores, a total of 16 MB of cache memory and clock frequencies up to 3.6 GHz. The list also shows slimmed-down AMD FX-6100 and FX-4100 with six and four cores respectively. Common denominators are TDP values of 95 or 125 W and socket AM3 +.
According to previous clues, the official launch of the FX series will take place on 19 September. However, the risk is imminent that it will take longer than that before deliveries start in earnest.
