Google Meet introduces effective noise cancellation

Google is actively modernizing its own services and applications to make them as attractive and comfortable as possible for the target audience. At the end of September 2020, the developers of the Google Meet video conferencing application introduced the noise reduction feature. The innovation will become available along with the next update.

It is important to note that in order to use the new functionality, a person does not need headphones with noise canceling support. In the case of Google Meet, a special algorithm is used that is responsible for capturing and removing extraneous noise during a conversation. It is noteworthy that noise reduction works not only in the mobile application, but also in the web version.

By default, the new feature is disabled, but if desired, it can be activated in the application settings menu. Please note that you must turn on noise canceling before making a call. The innovation filters not only microphone noise, but also street noise, keyboard sound and more. However, the new feature does not affect the sound of the TV or the voices of nearby people.

At the moment, the noise canceling system is only available in New Zealand, Brazil, UAE, India, Australia, South Africa and Japan. In the rest of the regions, an update with a new feature will appear shortly.
