Konami admits half a year later that eFootball 2022 launch was rushed

We had almost forgotten about the existence of the eFootball 2022but Konami has come back to remind us that this game is still alive, and that’s because just today, half a year after its release, they announced that version 1.0 of the game will arrive on April 14, which confirms that what was released at the time was a beta version. Obviously, its premiere on Steam with 90% of negative ratings They reflected that the title was just a bunch of nonsense despite the fact that it came for free.

Half a year later, the thing is not that much has changed, and it is that 86% of overall reviews are negativewhile the most recent 79% are negative.

In short, in the press release Konami stated that they were too focused on releasing the gameto the point where they lost sight of the most important thing, releasing a quality game, so it’s obvious that they found themselves with “with reviews from legitimately disappointed fans“.

The “eFootball 2022” v1.0.0 update will be released on April 14, 2022.

“To offer soccer fans around the world the opportunity to enjoy a new soccer game, with unrivaled realism like never before.”

With that in mind, we headed into what would ultimately be a two-year development period for eFootball 2022. However, we were so focused on getting the game out on time that we lost sight of the most important thing: quality.
Naturally, we are met with criticism from fans, legitimately disappointed.

The development team has worked hard ever since to win back the trust of our esteemed fans, as well as to make the game even more enjoyable for football fans around the world.
As part of our commitment to improving the game, we have added new commands and numerous elements (both offensive and defensive) that are prevalent in the modern soccer game. We have also rebalanced the game and fixed bugs, to ensure an enjoyable gaming experience.

All these changes have only been possible thanks to your valuable opinions; user feedback we’ve collected in in-game surveys and on social media – your “real voices”.
Among those voices, many encouraged us to create the best game possible. We were inspired by the warmth of the feedback and were able to come together as a team, even in the midst of the global health crisis. For this, we would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Although it has been 6 months since the initial release last September, we believe that we have finally reached a level of quality that we can trust. Hence the decision to release v1.0.0.
Rest assured, we still have a few more features to be implemented in future updates, so stay tuned for more information in the future. In the meantime, we hope you will enjoy this “new soccer game”!
