Lenovo unveils Geforce RTX 3050 with associated Ti variant

Leaks and revelations hail close before Nvidia’s Geforce event, which will be held on January 12 during the digital CES trade fair. In addition to Asus and Gigabyte, which have been quick with the trigger finger and revealed the RTX 3080 Ti and RTX 3060 with 12 GB of memory, Lenovo has now also decided that the company wants to see its name in the news columns.

By listing specifications for the Legion R5 28IMB05 desktop gaming computer, the Chinese company achieves just that – as the list of graphics cards the model can be equipped with includes graphics cards in the Geforce RTX 3050 series, including a Ti derivative of the same. The models differ in the amount of memory, 4 GB and 6 GB, respectively, but also current image outputs where the non-Ti variant offers a DVI output.

Videocardz believes that the Geforce RTX 3050 Ti was previously known as the RTX 3060, a model that now only appears to come in a configuration with 12 GB of GDDR6 memory to meet the upcoming Radeon RX 6700. Both RTX 3060 and 3050 Ti are expected to build on the graphics circuit GA106 and the number of CUDA cores will amount to 3,840 and 3,584 respectively.

The smallest in the context, RTX 3050 with only 4 GB of GDDR6 memory, is instead believed to be equipped with the graphics circuit GA107 and thus only share numbers in the model designation with 3050 Ti. Here, Videocardz says that the CUDA cores will be 2,304 in number, while the memory bus is expected to be 128 bits wide.

Exactly which circuits will be revealed during the CES show remains to be seen – but the last pieces of the puzzle in Nvidia’s RTX 3000 series are starting to fall into place.
