Available on BitBox since 2018 for investors based outside of Japan and the United States, the digital coin LINK will finally officially enter the Japanese market in April 2020.
Singaporean crypto-exchange owner BitBox, LINE recently launched a second exchanger dedicated to the Japanese market and called bitmax.
In a press release, LINE explained that he collaborated with the JVCEA, a consortium of Japanese crypto-exchanges that works in concert with the Japanese regulator FSA, to authorize his token in the East Asian island state.
While LINE seems to be advancing fairly quickly with its cryptocurrency, other web giants, like Facebook with Libra and Telegram with GRAM, are having more difficulty today with regulators in issuing their digital coin.
