This summer, Nvidia released the third part of the architectural saga Pascal, in the form of the mid-range Geforce GTX 1060. The model took place on a direct collision course with AMD’s Radeon RX 480, and proved to offer very good energy efficiency together with performance on a par with 2014’s worst Geforce GTX 980. Like previous Pascal launches, the rollout began with Nvidia’s reference design “Founder’s Edition” and then replenished with the partner manufacturers’ many custom variants.
Today we will take a closer look at a selection of the myriad models available from partner manufacturers of Geforce GTX 1060. The test lab will be visited by EVGA, Gigabyte and MSI, whose cards offer both factory overclocking and their own cooling solutions – but in several different size classes and price groups.
