In the summer of 2016, Nvidia released its most powerful graphics card for gaming ever. Equipped with the giant GP102 graphics circuit, with 3,584 CUDA cores and 12 GB of GDDR5X memory, the Titan X took high-resolution gaming performance to whole new levels, where even 4K UHD with screwed-up eye candy was suddenly a sustainable alternative. Less sustainable was the recommended price of SEK 13,495, which made the card a rare sight at home in the enthusiasts’ cabins.
Today it has become time for Nvidia to lift the veil for the next part in the saga of the graphics circuit GP102. The focus is on the Geforce GTX 1080 Ti, a model that inherits many features from the flagship Titan X at the same time as the price tag is reduced by as much as SEK 5,000.
With the promise of offering performance on par with its expensive big brother, it’s time for the Geforce GTX 1080 Ti to enter the test lab and show what it’s for!
