Soon it’s time for Nvidia to launch its new architecture “Turing” for consumers, with the two graphics cards Geforce RTX 2080 and Geforce RTX 2080 Ti. They will be the company’s first brand new models in over two years and will take over after the long-lived Geforce GTX 1000 series.
Nvidia has announced that the Geforce RTX 2080 performs 50 percent better than the Geforce GTX 1080, but beyond that, they have not presented any concrete performance figures. Despite this, results from software such as 3DMark Time Spy have found their way onto the web and now what are said to be performance figures from a number of different game titles are also published.
It is the Youtube channel PC Hocasi TV that published a now removed video, where they showed performance figures for Geforce RTX 2080 Ti and compared these with GTX 1080 Ti. The game titles that were tested include The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Grand Theft Auto V and Far Cry 5 and the new model does not perform quite unexpectedly better in all of them.
The Witcher 3 measured an average image update of 56 FPS, compared to the Geforce GTX 1080 Ti which only reached 44 FPS. This when the game was running in 4K resolution with the graphics set to Ultra. It is worth mentioning, however, that at present it is only about unconfirmed information.
The figures are in line with previous data that show that the Geforce RTX 2080 Ti is able to maintain 60 FPS in modern game titles in 4K resolution. In some game titles, the frame rate is said to be above 100 FPS, even then in 4K UHD and the graphics set to Ultra.
Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 and RTX 2080 Ti will be launched on September 20 and have a recommended price tag of SEK 9,199 and SEK 13,999, respectively. This applies to the Founders Edition models in Nvidia’s own online store and recommended prices for models from partner manufacturers are still unknown.
