On July 7, 2019, it was time for AMD to finally launch the coveted Ryzen 3000 series. With the new Zen 2 architecture under the hood, modular chiplet design and processor cores manufactured on fresh 7 nanometers from TSMC, the top model was awarded the “Top Class” award in SweClocker’s test.
However, not everything is gold and green forests, and users from both the red and green teams have reported crashes during graphics-intensive loads when an Nvidia graphics card is paired with a Ryzen 3000 processor. Nvidia now confirms that the company has recreated the problems and is working on a solution. No further details about the cause of the problems were revealed.
However, in some cases Reddit users have corrected the error by switching the PCI Express 4.0 port to PCI Express 3.0 mode, but this does not appear to be the only source of error. Although most crash reports come from Nvidia users, several Radeon VII and Radeon RX 5700 owners have experienced the same thing.
AMD has so far not commented on the problems, and it is not known if it is a consistent error or isolated events. Nvidia has thus confirmed that the company’s graphics card has certain collaboration difficulties with the Ryzen 3000 series, but it is not yet known when a solution may be in place.
