The next big title from DICE is called Star Wars: Battlefront and the open beta is currently in full swing. Before the test period, Electronic Arts took the opportunity to release system requirements for the game, which with the recommendations Radeon R9 290 or Geforce GTX 970 will be one of the more demanding titles ever.
Nvidia is now releasing its latest WHQL-certified driver, Geforce Driver 358.50, where the main issue is just optimizations for the latest major title. That the game needs special hand-laying is confirmed by Nvidia themselves, who claim that a Geforce GTX 970 “only” is enough for 60 fps in Full HD with High settings on the Walker’s Assault track with 40 players.
In addition to Battlefront optimizations, support for OpenGL ES 3.2 is added, as well as improvements and bug fixes for Gameworks VR, including in the form of broader SLI support. Furthermore, improvements for DirectX 12 and new SLI profiles are also noticeable. All this and more can be read in Nvidia’s version document.
The drivers can be downloaded from Nvidia’s official website.
