OPPO is preparing a smartphone with a flap. Will it threaten competition with the price?

There are more and more foldable smartphones, and although they are really interesting devices, their price means that few people can afford them. It seems that the flap model OPPO is working on has a bit of a mess in this matter.

OPPO already offers a foldable smartphone – Find N, which debuted in December last year. However, it does not stop there and is already preparing a model with a clamshell design, known to us from Galaxy Z Flip3 or Huawei P50 Pocket. We know very little about this device, at least in terms of specifications, because the leaks only mentioned the presence of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ system on board.

Meanwhile, we learned something else. It is said that OPPO with a flap will be much more affordable than the competition, i.e. the aforementioned Samsung and Huawei models. According to rumors, in China it will cost around 5,000 yuan (convert to US dollar), which translates to ~ 718 euro. For comparison – the Galaxy Z Flip3 and P50 Pocket cost 1060 and 1290 euros on the day of release. If the leak turns out to be real, OPPO can mess up the market quite well. Of course, as long as the final product turns out to be worth the money.

It is said that the OPPO clamshell smartphone could make its debut in early summer, which means we should learn much more about it in the near future.
